So...I looked at the directions and it said simply "soak seeds in water overnight". I put the seeds in a bowl of water and they floated...they weren't submerged and "soaking"...as far as I'm concerned. Are pupmkin seeds supposed to float?

I have only donbe it a few times but, yep, they have always floated for me, I usually just stir them up every so often.

Just put a piece of paper towel or something on top to hold them down in the water. I use a med-sized glass & fill 1/2 full of water, place filed seeds into the water & take a paper towel & place on top. This will absorb some of the water, but it will also hold the seeds down in the moisture. Hope this helps.

A peice of metal screen will keep the seed submerged. Try to keep the soak at 85*F which will hasten germination.

Sally, They float while soaking it's normal. I don't bother trying to submerge them.

Float for me too. Hasn't mattered a bit, great germination.
