Does anyone know when exactly I should start my lg seeds indoors?

This is a good question... Long Gourds being of the Lagenaria Genus are heat loving plants. They do not really take off until it we get warm nights. A Pumpkin plant we know does not like to have its roots disturbed and suffers if it is in a pot to long. Long gourds on the average have a 40-50 day growth from pollination. So they can start later in the season.
