Giant grower to be (Sam)

Draper, Utah

This will be my first year growing AG pumpkins and I am looking for someone who can teach me the tricks of the trade. I am 30 and live in Draper, UT. I have learned a lot from people on this website, jim beauchimins DVD, and from the three how to grow giant pumpkin books but I am looking for someone who can help me through my first season.
Thanks,
Giant grower to be (sam)

The UGPG is a group of everyday people who enjoy growing giant pumpkins. Their goal is to promote the hobby of growing giant pumpkins and squash in the Utah area.

My personal best of 887.5 came from a Utah seed...grown last year...my second year....

They have some cool T-shirts too!

Thanks for replying to my post Jamie. I am currently a member of UGPG and I have emailed two people from UGPG and have not had much of a response as far as help goes with this season. This is why I posted this message on here so I could find someone who would be willing to help.

Sam-
I didn't see this post until just now. I was out of town all last week on vacation. I didn't read all the posts that were posted while I was gone. I replied to your email. I hope it helped. Also I usually only check my email 2-3 times a week. Shoot me an email or give me a call if you have any more questions. Email usually works best even if it takes a couple days for me to reply... Sometimes I can be hard to get a hold of by phone... because of work, family, school, church, boy scouts, soccer, etc. etc. etc. In our next newsletter we are going to have a list of members, where they live and their email address and phone number. But we have contact all of them first and ask them if it is ok that we give out their information.

Sorry you weren't able to make it to either of our seminars in March. It's too bad because they were packed full of lots of good information in the form of presentations and handouts by the areas top growers. Each had a long question and answer session after the presentations.

If you'd like a little more back ground, history and perspective on giant pumpkin growing, how the clubs have delevopled over the years to make your entry into the hobby/sport very easy... as compared to what other competitive hobbies and sports do ... I'd be happy to fill you in on the all work and generosity that has gone on... pumpkin growers are the nicest people around period! and for the most are willing to help... even if they are very busy people.
Gordon
