My names sheryl and i hav been growing since I was 3 with my dad. Now I am thirteen and having some trouble with the weeds. Anything i can do without killing the plant? In the garden that I grow in there was a lot of chick crap dumped there and the weeds are unbareable! Any suggestions?

Welcome Sheryl.
Mulches may be used to limit or control weeds. One of the more novel is also very effective, cheap & easy to use.
A local grower lays thin (1.5 mil I think) plastic on the soil in early March. He removes the plastic from the planting hole right before planting. As the vines run he removes the plastic just ahead of the advancing plant.
Heat under the plastic causes the weed seeds to germinate & then quickly die. This is the same thing that happens when chemical pre-emergent herbicides are used. But these herbicides can damage the pumpkin plants & are not safe for a 13 year old to use hence are NOT recommended.

Thanx sooo much! I'll have to try it. I also hear something about dipping felt into weed killers and drapeing it over the weeds. What do you think?
