i have built 4 x 4 cold frames for my ag's this year any suggestions on what mil plastic to use

I've used 4 mil now for the past 4 years now .Works for me. 6 x 8 cold frames.

6 holds up well for us.

If you can find UV stabilized greenhouse plastic you might even get 3 years out of it. Otherwise the Home Cheapo stuff needs to be changed every year so thinner might not matter.

I'm in my fifth growing year using the same 6 mil plastic. I see no need to change it as of this year. It is only out in the sun for about three or four weeks a year. Not to much UV damage can take place in that time. I used an unknown brand of local hardware store source.
