Hello - Just wondering what everyone does with their burnt leaves. I have a few that were fried last week in all the heat. Do you just let them be or cut them?

I think one of my mains was fried as well @ 10'. (Similar to Ken D's latest post) I have seen no growth from the tip in a couple of days. The last thing at the end that is developing is a female. Any suggestions?

Ceis, I've been having so much trouble with the main that today I made an executive decision that enough was enough. Pinched it down and training the first secondary back as rhe new main. I just leave the burnt leaves on but one of the big guys might have better ideas. Chuck

CEIS, I watch mine and cut them off when there is no more than 5% green. My 2 cents

Thanks Chuck - I was planning on doing the same thing. (training the next secondary as the main) Unfortunately I'll lose some time since this secondary is just emerging from the node. I guess it is just a matter of time.

I'm having some challenges with "growth management" as there are so many secondaries and terteriaries (sp) going all at once. I start second guessing my self wondering which ones should be pinched and ones should be left to grow. I have already outgrown my area & trying to stay one step ahead of my plants. Cheers - Ceis

Chuck - BTW I saw your diary postings today and thought I'd le you know that I was successful in 'turning' a main on one of my other plants. (luck I guess) I cut most of the tendrils off but let the one on the outside remain (pkin was on the inside) I butted the tendril arm against a stake and forced it to grow & twist upwards. Just make sure you don't forget to re-position the stake.
The vine seems to be a little confused, but I think it will get the message. Good Luck - Ceis

THX Pappy - I have about the top 3rd left so will keep.

Hey Ceis, It doesn't take long for them to run amok. Especially in a smaller patch. Two secondaries I thought were terminated stood up again. Seems that a vine tip terminated make the first secondary back grow quicker so you won't lose much time. 3rd vine are definitely pinch on sight, just make you miserable in the long run and detract from the primary vines growth. Mrrr bury the vine means just that at least at each leaf node roots come out and they add to the plants root system as well as anchor the plant down. Tendrils help hold it down to the weeds they try to stangle but alot of big time grower pinch them off early too.
