OK, I live in the LA. where heat is a factor,I water in the morning with my hose and light nozzle( if I'm going to fertilize that's usally when I do it)then I water in the afternoon around 3 or so for about an hour with a drip system.I haven't seen any wilting or anything that appears strange. What I don't seem to get is if the little pumpkins start in July and are harvested by October that's appox 120 days. Well if I'm going to grow a 1000 pder. that would mean that baby would have to grow appox. 8.5 pds a day, how does that happen?

Read Pappy's diary has a growth spurt where he's putting on twenty pounds plus a day. you will see a lot of this in the weeks coming, The guy who grows the big ones learn how to sustain that frowth rate without blowing the pumpkin up. Seems like they real growers push the fine line of to much/just right/to little. They learn how to read the plant and know when they are pushing it to hard and when to back off a bit. You see a lot go for the slow and steady route. Good Luck spy...wait till you see this!!
