i've noticed that a lot of posts have been made on how to save male flowers for females that blossom afterwards. what about just the opposite? i've got a second female getting ready to open and haven't had the first male open yet. what is the corrolation. am i not giving them the right fertilizer? is this plant just showing its own personality (you know i'm going bumkins when i talk about plant personalities). both of the females are at least six feet out and both plants have at least a dozen male buds, not budweiser Pappy:-)....thanks for any input....owen

Your plant just didn't read the owners manual. Nothing to worry about.

Last year Pappy had one plant that only threw females. He was begging for a male. I think they finally shipped some into him. This year shooting for a atate record!!! It's a great hobby.

alexsdad, Brian C. was right. it wasn't anything to worry about, within 48 hours of my post i had one male blossom and this morning two more. another newbie learning curve, guess i was just to anxious. all of the males that had come out prior to the first male where too close to the stump anyhow. the plant is taking care of me, i'm not taking care of it.....isn't that the way! haven't seen a picture from Pappy recently, but he knows we are all pulling for him!!! Go Pappy, Go!
