HI Rick I live in the Huntinton Beach, Orange county area I have grown one to 650 pounds and other growers have grown larger ones. Main things to take care of are weeding, watering and fertilizer. Placement of the fruit and vine training will also help. To get more info use the search engines here to get more information.

Rick, I know a guy who's had great luck in Southern California, Kevin Smith. He got a 758, 703, and 594 in his first year. You can e-mail him at [email protected]. Also, buy How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpmkins 1 and 2. In the heavy hitters section of volume 2 Chris Anderson of Southern California briefly describes how he grew his 1997 world champion 977 pound AG. Tom

Im in the central valley near Fresno. This is my first year growing the BIG ONEs. Was about 107 here today. Plants are taking the heat pretty good. Just wondering if it will stunt their growth or the amount of fruit set. Guess i,ll find out. Im using a misting sytstem too. Kind of like what Suzy is using. Good luck to all of you hope you meet you goals on what you want to grow. Oh I just met another guy from Porteville yesterday who tring to grow AGs. I gave him some more seed , it,s a little late , but i bet he will get something nice.. Greg
