When you cut off a vine or a leaf, do your put anything in the hole that you leave from the vine or the leaf that is left after the cut?

A stitch in time...Always a good idea on a large cut to seal the leak from the plumbing. I don't do anything to the early pinches but probably should. One of the big guys will give you a better answer then I can! chuck

Along the same lines, it looks like on all my nicer pumpkins, there is a rather annoying leaf right at the top of the stem, affecting the angle of the pumpkin. Cut this off or what?

Not unless your sure this is the one ya want. RIght distance from the stump etc, no use hacking it up unless it sets and showing some good growth.

Like pappy said, leave the leaf alone unless you're sure the pumpkin is a keeper. I don't usually put anything on the cut, they dry out after a day and have not had a problem. For a larger vine cut that keeps oozing after a day or two, I have had success with pruning seal. --Bruiser
