I cut off a pumpkin that aborted which was the size of a basketball. I cut it open just to see what was going on inside. The thing was comletely solid. There were seeds but absolutley no "hollow" area. Is this normal for younger pumpkins? Just curious. It suprised me.

This is normal for a basketball sized fruit. The inner void develops later.
