Living in No Cal with the weighoff the first Sat in October, did I pollinate too early on July 5 and the rest of that week? Should I have waited? Thought it was the golden week so to speak. I know everywhere is different.

It is now pretty cold in the mornings. Still a T-shirt at 6am but colder. Is the early planting to get the max growth while days AND nights are warm? Since the weather is colder I am guessing the pumpkin will last longer on the vine as well.

Just wondering. I started them in early May and thought I might adjust a bit. I know most growers want every possible day of growth, just wondered if there was a "peak" or maximum I might shoot for next year.
