I have seen several posts about a split that makes a bit of rot at the blossom end. It seems like the whole blossom knob is rotten. Is this the same thing? Pumpkin is about 185lbs and I would like to keep it. Should I just put on Captan or Daconil or ..... Where do I get these? Is there something I can get at a big box store today with same ingredients? Otherwise would be mail order.
Thanks

scrape all the rot off or out, and use a clorox bleach solution about 10 to 1 or 10% bleach, and water if you cant find Captan or others wht bother now just, do you have a dry cleaner like Ajacks or other counter cleaner? just throw it on there dry and keep dry

I just dug out the off colored and mushy stuff from the blossom end. It went as deep as a dime and as wide as a silver dollar. Sprayed with 10% bleach solution and will put on some comet or ajax tomorrow if all seems well. The pumpkin is weeping something fierce but I guess after surgery that should be expected. I am going to update my diary tonight so you will be able to see the pictures. A LONG time until Halloween or even the first Sat in October, but we will hold our breath!
