I thought I would try to do two pumpkins on one of my biggest plants. They both rushed to about 100lbs each growing 8-12 pounds a day recently but now have tapered and slowed. If I cut one of them off will the other take off? Once a pumpkin has slowed, will it pick up speed again?
Thanks

cull the slowest grower a little bit at a time over about 3days cut through the stem, but you will take your chances on one, your choice !(as for me i cut it right off and treat with captan)leaving 1 or keep them both for holloween

So I guess they CAN recover? The only reason I would cut the one off is if the other will jump start again. I think I may water and fertilize the heck out of this one and see how that goes. If not, then as you said, will still be "huge" halloween pumpkins!
