Port Orchard Washington

This is my 1st year for AG's, so I'got a question. I'm growing an Emmons833-05. By my standards it is growing well, 12" at 10 days 18 at 14. Well, I cut a long secondary that was puttin out females and trying to out grow the main. Day 15 , it only grew .5 inch. Is my cutting the secondary responsible for the change in growth?
thanks, Bob

The only way that cut would have slowed the fruit would be if it was really the main. Is the patch neatly tended or is there a mass of uncontrolled growth?

It was a xmas tree shaped, then in the last week, this vine took off, about a foot from the stump, most of the vine growth has slowed except for this vine. Just seems odd that the kin growth rate dropped. My Stucker 855.5-04 is 5 days ahead, and has been growin 1.6" a day in circumference, but it hasn't shown any odd vine growth.
Gave the emmons a shot of fish ferty, maybe I can kick start it.

Ahhhh....this might speak to a different issue. This fast growing secondary might have taken off in response to a borer, disease or other break in the mainvine. This would explain the fruit slowing down. Check every inch of the main for a disturbance in "the force".

no borers out in Washington.
how about weather as the cause... more clouds and cooler temps?

the weather has cooled, only been in the 70s instead of 90s. My other plant hasn't changed in growth, guess I'll just keep up with things and se what happens, thanks for the advice
