Hey everyone...
I growing a 904 Northrup and it's going real nice. Almost 70 inches cir, and the leaves and vines are healthy and doing great. I had 2 on the main vine and I culled one almost a week ago. Since then, my remaining one is growing like crazy, but the vines seem to have slowed quite a bit. The main vine is doing ok,(slower than usual) but the secondary vines seem to be at a dead stop. Is this normal? Is all the juice being directed towards the pumpkin? Any thoughts would help/ David K

From what I've seen, read, and been told, you got it right on the head,,,once the fruit is feeding things tend to slow down fast for vine growth,,I have it here on all my plants that I am letting the main run on at this time.

Casual observation of these heartbreakers shows that very often sides will bunch up and stop growing when the fruit gets to the put-on-the-pounds mode. Moreso on the sides without female flowers than those with. But, that said...some plants just keep on growing..........
