As far as i can find out, Merit is not sold in calif. Due to it will kill all our children in the state. It may be available in a diluted form. Its made by Bayer. Its a systemic. Some of the previous statements may be true or may not. In the grower diaries, a california grower speaks of using merit. Is this available on the black market? Or is this your rose & flower systemic. Can someone set me straight? Looks like WMV or CMV, not sure. hellllpp meeeee

I've shipped plenty of Merit (both 75WP & 2#F) to California over the yearsBayer also has consumer Merit in garden centers there.
It doesn't even kill children. But you do have a strong lobby in CA that would like you to THINK it kills children.

Bayer Tree and Shrub in the blue bottle. Home Depot and just about every nursery has it. Diluted ALOT, I think 1.5% instead of 75% in true Merit. But at least you can get it.
PS - My kids are just fine but I did keep them out of the patch for a day or two.

Thanks petman, Are you increasing dosage to compensate for the dilutement? And have you had any problems with the cucumber beetle after applying?

Ditto what Gordon said. I got mine from pumpkinsupply.com. No problems getting it into CA. IMHO the 75WP works MUCH better than the products you can buy at Home Depot with Merit mixed into it for the reason that Petman pointed out. I've used both. With the 75WP you'll be lucky if you can even find a bug on your plant.
