Subject: the pumpkin is splinting the vine

my newest pumpkins is growing but starting to crowd the main taproot i'm afraid the vine will split but the pumpkin is to small to move perpendicular to vine what should i do?

As the fruit grows the stem will elongate some. When it has some weight of it's own you can muscle it into position. Rather than bending the stem, in time it would be better to curve the main so the fruit is on the outside of the curve.
