How soon after the female is pollinated should I see major growth on a new pumpkin. I pollinated one on Saturday the 29th and it is now roughly the size of a baseball. Is this normal growth for this time period?

as long as it's still bright your okay. I can't remember the numbers off hand but there are numbers for circumference at day ten, twenty and thirty...should start doubling in size by day ten fro where you are now.

To further the post....
Based on Turken's reply to my post, a 25" circumference is a benchmark at 10 days.
My biggest that I just culled based on position issues, double vining, etc. was 20 inch circumference at day 10 and a total 50 OTT method. On a bathroom scale it weighed in at 4 pounds.
When I read Don's book III he said his was 20lbs at 14 days. That is approx 91 OTT at 14 days. How are you guys/gals pushing your pumpkins so hard? Are we underfeeding, underwatering or what? Is it Calcium that is helping? What tends to be the limiting factor...any ideas? Should we still hit it hard with fertilizer since it seems it would be hard to split such a small pumpkin?
