I use rain birds to cool the plants in the HOT summer afternoons. Wondered if this would mess up my pollination?

I was taught to cut the top off of a plastic gallon jug and attach the handle section to about a 12" dowel rod. Immediately following pollination I slip on a pair of panty hose (over the female that is) and then slide the plastic cover down over. This method gives shade and shelter because if the LOBES get wet before the pollen takes... it's all over.

Keep the flower dry the day it is pollinated.
