So being a new grower I thought I would post here so as not to burden the whole community with my seemingly constantquestions.
Doing some research and wondered if anyone has used Virukil? I have added the information below. Where not specifically on point to the cucumber mosaic, I thought it might help. Looks like it is potentially only available in China. Maybe there is a similar product here in the U.S.A. I assume not since I have not read about it here, but couldn't hurt to ask. Anyone? Question: How to cure MOSAIC VIRUS in PAPAYA plants? Answer: use ViruKil.
ViruKil could also be used for curing the following virus in crops: - MOSAIC VIRUS: PAPAYA, TOBACCO, PEPPER. - Virosis: Tomato, Chilly, Beans, Cabbage - MRDV: Corn - Dwarf Mosaic Virus: Corn - Vine Wilt: Melon - Powdery Mildew: Wheat, Cowpea, Melon - Bacteria Blight: Rice - Bacterial Leaf Spot: Rice and many more destructive diseases and virus in crops.
ViruKil is a HIGHLY EFFECTIVE and NON-TOXIC.
ViruKil has drastically improved the yield and quality of various crops up to 40% compared with using other types of foliar fertilizers available in the market.
ViruKil formulation is researched by Chengdu Biology Institute, China Academy of Science. Received National Patents in 1997. Classified as Bio Pesticides: the main promotional safe agriculture pesticides in the Ministry of Agriculture. It is a necessary pesticide for the production of environmental friendly agriculture products and Green foods. It could effectively protect and cure various virus and diseases on crops such as Papaya, Banana, Tobacco, Tomato, Chilly, Melons, Wheat, Corn, Soya Beans, Pepper, etc. It significantly regulates the growth function and also drastically improves the output quantity and quality and thus, better returns of the Agriculture Products.
ViruKil is a cytidine apetide antibiotics, pure substance in powder form. Melting Point is 195 Deg C. Easily soluble in water.

Petman, first we will all wait for Tremor to let us know what he thinks...LOL...second, is it sold in the USA, and if so under what brand name? Seems to be a cunindrum going on here..."significantly regulates the growth function and drastically improves quantity and quality" ... . These two statements seem to oppose each other. Hope it works well for you, grow em big!!! Peace, Wayne PS The community is here to bear the burdens of us nu/B's...keep on askin?'s... good to see the nu-B board so active...!!!!!

A Chinese claimed antibiotic chemical with no known American university efficacy data having been published.
So far antibiotics have never proven to be effective against plant virus (or any other viruses for that matter). But if I had an infected plant growing in isolation & had some of this material then it's worth a shot.
I'm not really hopeful but I hate to discourage folks either.
If such a new "cure all" was available then the major ag publications & universities would be spewing forth their accolades....& they're not.

Figured as much. No need for it now but am always interested in researching prior to actually needing the chemical, fertilizer, etc. If I see more or test results, I will let everyone know.
