I have heard some say a couple thousand square feet or more. I figure from my reading here and the books that 900 sf would be plenty. I get this from the posts here that say to run a main at 12-15 feet and then secondaries shorter or Christmas tree. So if we went 15 feet in all directions from the middle and ran a square instead of a circle, it would be 30 by 30 at 900sf. Is this a reasonable size?
What size do you pros use?
I figure I might as well ask all my questions as the board is not overloaded.

That drawing seems to confirm. I was thinking 30 x 30 but 20 x 40 seems to be good too. Helps me plan the patch for backup addition and future planning. That is a good post. Thanks.
