The thing we have found out about vegetables is you have to push the customers hard. People will want tomatoes before they can possibly ripe. Then will ask for peas in the middle of august. How much work are you willing to put into this and who is your competetion. We have many immigrants around here that we could not compete with as far as price goes. We will stick with Fall Season things so we can concentrate on that.

On another note...if you can be the 1st to have ripe tomatoes they go really good..until everyone and there mother has them

If they are organic you would have a easier time selling them. If not, It might be hard to undercut local markets, that is unless their is a tomato shortage like there is now. You might try a fruit stand( Sometimes they take local growers veggies to sell), swap meet or small market.

Around here, almost every town has a "farmer's market" where local growers can take their produce to sell. They usally do pretty good. Some also bring in baked goods, jellies, salsa, etc. You might have to pay a small fee for a spot to sell from. By getting lots of growers together, it really brings the people in. Maybe they have something like that in your area.

I have good luck selling to restuarants I will under cut the middle man that sells commercial grown. I can usually get $1 / lb easy.
We delivered ky grown tomatoes to a fruit market in Indianapolis back in the 80's.
