I grew some nice Big Max last year. I was thinking about going a bit larger this year. Maybe in the 150-200 lb range. Just a few nice ones for my son for halloween. Can anyone give me some advice on what kind of pumpkin I should grow? I have a limited space at home. About 45x20.
Was thinking about goin' for the big boys this year too, Have to grow those at my father-in-laws farm. Plenty of space there. How do I know which are the right A-G seeds to buy or ask for on the board? I don't want anything super huge for my first year. Just something I can be proud of. Still learning a lot, don't wanna waste any really nice seeds just to screw something up.

Andre, you can plant prizewinner pumpkins which are capable of producing pumpkins which can grow from 100 to 300 lbs and are real nice color for Halloween. Ray

Thanks for all the offers. I really appreciate it. And you're right, even growing the Big Max was obsessive. I'd check on 'em 2-3 times a day everyday. I'm not exspecting too much this yr. Still a whole lotta stuff to learn.
My wife is already askin' me what I plan on doing with the big ones. I told 'er that after halloween I might see how much it takes to blow ones up ;)

Andre, IMHO in the space you have you should have no problem growing an AG and one or two prizewinners, too.
