I meet many great peaple on this site but my mistake is not knowing the name behind the grower like when tom b came into chat one night i was like ahh someone new to meet then i learn hes the name behind the seed beachy i was in shock, well last night i did it again like a moron i say hello to a new face named jack and i tell him about my personal best and how don young is a big time heavy hitter in my book and low and behold i find out hes jack yep jack larue and my name is tracy the drop jaw i need to do some major reaseach so the next big time grower that pops in for chat i know who he is and stuff like everyone else on the site i had no clue the man behind the seed was the same person i was talking too lol but this is me and i cant help it im just hoping the next time a heavy hitter is on line one of my good friends here will warn me even by hints that im talking to a guy whos got a seed named after him anyways have fun all and have a great halloween

Tracy, a big help for me was a thread on the General Discussion board a while back called...Time for another Who is Who. I have it printed out and keep it handy. 12 printed pages of great folks who hang out here...at least occasionally...identifying themselves. Great help to me. Peace Wayne

oh dont worry about me im not sad or anything acutally its quiet funny to me after the fact and when i ask peaple there names they always say first names so i dont put two and two together until most of you all point it out to me by saying there last name and by then im shocked that i actually was talking to the same peaple that the big seed names are from lol. For me its all about fun and meeting great peaple despite if they grow big or small its all about the pumpkins in the long run so have fun everyone and i will try my best to research the whos who catagory but if for some reason i dont put two and two together please dont be offended its gonna take a while for me to get my social bearings i hope everyone goes big next yr so i can finally say i know the person who grew that seed, best wishes all

Do you intend going to the Growers Seminar in Niagra next March. If you do you will not only chat with a lot of World famous Growers but you will be able to chat and socialise with them face to face. Unfortunately i have never been to the Seminar and will never be able to but i have heard great things about the Niagra experience.

if i could have one wish it would be to go alas im a single mommy and my kid is my love and second if i would go i probably would hide in the shadows to in awe to even say hello lest i look like a weirdo ha ha but i have heard of the seminar and if they do a traveling one and come to my state i would be there with a big ole pumpkin hat shmoosing it up with everyone

Tracy, bar none, your genuine enthusiasm, and sense of humor, concerning the addiction of gro'en'em big is one of the best things to hit this site since I been here. There are no prima donnas in Niagara. We're all just growers. Some more accomplished than others. But growers just the same. Plenty of people bring children too. Downtown is starting to look like Disneyland.

As for the comment about mr beachy to me anyone with that many seeds named after him is one serious grower and if his head gets to big well then mabye he wont be able to grow next yr for fear of fallin over in his patch( just kidding) as for how many seed i have well that depends on things right now i have enough to set me up for a couple of yrs how was i supposed to know when you send a bubblie you would get that many seeds back it was like rolling around on a bed full of money only in my case it was seeds lol. AS for niagra i would love to go but this yr is a tight one as for next yr i will just ask my family and friends for money so me and my child can go mabye bring sis if shes nice and if there are that many growers to meet forget disneyland its the land of the giants for me. As for every grower here you are all great peaple with kind hearts and have been nothing but kind to me this first of many seasons but as for next yr watch out for me becasue im goin for the big 100 lol have fun all and best wishes for you and yours

with the information available to everyone from a whole host of places it not uncommon now for a first year grower to produce a real monster

the trick and communication come into play when you want to get a hold of a specific seed stock, or run into disease situations that you have no answer for

my absolute best advise for any new grower is to find an accomplished grower within driving distance of your home

call that person,get into their head,visit them early and ofen during the season

nothing beats a first hand look nothing

I think we've all done something along those lines at one time or another.
... or as my wife would say ... don't worry about it, we've all done stupid things ! lol !
