I've got a really stupid question: here it is ,Ive got a pin hole in my pumpkin . I probed it today and it goes in about 1/2 inch , would that be considered into the Cavity? thanks any information would be helpful , I guess I need a picture book.

Into the cavity means that it goes all the way to the center ( hollow) portion of the pumpkin.

try not to probe it too much. bring it to a wieghoff if thats your plan and tell the judge about it. he will probe it...once. the more you probe the more you penetrate.

Thanks for the responses to my question . I do want to take it to a weigh-off, it probably only weighs around 500 lbs. but its my first year and I want to go to a weigh-off to see what it is like. Thanks again

Yes....do take it to a weigh-off. It's a lot of fun!
