I have 5 large Jack o'Lantrine pumpkins. When do I disconnect them from the plants. Jumpin Joe

If they are for Halloween Carving leave them on the vine as long as possible. I leave mine on untill it starts freezing hard then store them in a cool dry place.

They'll turn orange as september rolls along. Watch out for the squirrels. Once they find a pumpkin, nothings safe! They'll eat right through to get the seeds.

Scrape the rotten parts out. Use 10% bleach on the remaining stem then dry it well... Apply a fungicide like Captan to the stem. dry that out good. Store the pumpkin in a cool, dark, dry place.
