I had a soil sample done early in the spring. was told it was ok,
Sent another, as I am getting either very average-sized pumpkins, no pumpkins but lots of male flowers on one vine, and the prettiest vine has pumpkins start growing only to turn mushy. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED I COULD CRY! but, i am in TN and hve 2 months to try to get my plants in shape and producing. Please, help me. I am so new. will plst their findings on following email.mysuzy

Mysuzy: My pumpkins are growing about 2wks then turning white and then moldy. Is this what's happening to yours? It's happening to my buddy at work too. His grew to about 25lbs before turning white/rotten. I've had 1 grow to about 45lbs and two about 15lbs before turning white/mushy. What seed are you growing? Do you have a real crowded patch? What ferts are you using? Are you having any problems with disease or bugs? Greg

I don't have a clue what is wrong. If I ever got to 45 lbs, I would faint, as they mush out at 1 pound. sent a soil sample and the ag agent said all was well. I think my trouble is being in Memphis. I am sorry to say I didn't keep good records of the seeds so don't know. they were from BP people tho. cannot get rid of Colo potato beetles all together. put sevin out and they are gone for a few days.

Sounds like a lack of pollination...Colorado Potato beetles will not bother pumpkin plants.
