Hi everyone-your ears should be burning, as I talk about bigpumpkins.com to everyone and now they run when I approach. I ahve been gone a week to find gorgeous plants with ONLY male blooms. This is not going to work without females. Please rush suggestions. mysuzy,a new grower

How old is the plant? The males will come on average of 10 days before the females are ready. It is natures way of attracting Bees to the plant.

Agree, on my 721.5 Vincent which is only around 50 days old started showing females last week and now that they are about to open the males are starting to open as well.

First of all, I am probably one of the only Southern growers and I am sure this hell-hole humidity hurts my plants. The plant is probably 6 weeks old. I can see female buds at teh end of the vines, but there are only males and there are zillions. Do you think I am ok or should I hit them with high potassium? Thanks for your answers

Have some patients the females will come when they are ready. I had the same problem but the females eventually came. You could add some Bloom Boost but I would wait untill the plant is older and larger. Good Luck, Kevin

You're right on target Suzy. The females will open when they're ready. Let's hope some of the boys are still hanging around when they do.

Thanks, y'all for your answers. I went out and had a discussion with my female buds, telling them to "hustle their bustles". I advised the boys to hang around, but, you know boys always are around where there are women. Correct?my suzy Cary- how big do you think the vines have to be before you could use Bloom Boost? The plants are huge and healthy.

I would say if you really wanted to use bloom boost, to use it when the main is about 12 ft. or more in length. Also make sure the plant has at least 8 side vines that are around 8 or 9 ft long. But this is just my opinion. I would just wait for the females to come along. Kevin
