More Nu-B problems. On my 981 Zunino, I culled down to one 'kin. Had 2 on the main at approx. 12' and 14'. 12' one at bad angle to main, both growing almost identical. Kept 14'er with almost perfect 90 degree angle to main. Nice shape and color. That was 8 days ago. Fruit now measures 50" circ. but almost no growth in last 3 days. 2" gain in circ. in 3 days. Is there any hope for renewed growth. I also noticed on this plant that one (and only one) of the rear secondaries has leaves yellowing (the entire length of the secondary). All thoughts and ideas appreciated. Peace Wayne

It is not unusual for a fruit to take a break. There may be no problem at all but take the above advise seriously. Running out of water is a more likely problem if a problem exists. Needs an inch of water a week per plant. That is about six to seven hundred gallons of water per plant if they cover four hundred square feet or more.

Doc ... you're a little off on the patch size for that much water.

To cover a 1000 square foot patch evenly with 1 inch of water it takes 623 gallons. (1 gallon = 231 cubic inches) This is 89 gallons per day, or 178 gallons every other day.

Water is not a problem here at this time...approx 3" of rain last week spread out over 5 days. I have never seen a SVB here but would like to check. Other than a visual inspection of vines and leaves looking for eggs, what should I be looking for. This plant also has one, and only one back secondary with leaves yellowing. Thanks for the help. Peace Wayne

Came home from work yesterday to find fruit rotting. Too late to do much investigation. Looked fine yesterday a.m. Will investigate...inspect vines, inside and out, etc. and post what I find. Peace Wayne

I do have 5 other plants growing. They vary from sort of sad to very nice at this point. 906 Tanner has fruit approaching 250#. 1075 Daletas has 2 week old fruit that started slow but now adding 5" plus in circ each day for the last 5 days. Fruit set...I hope...on each of the other 3. Peace Wayne
