I grew generic seeds last year and you are ahead of what I had at day 12. Mine weighed 154# at the end last year. I got Powdery Mildew and before I knew what it was and started to treat for it my patch was pretty much destroyed. I think that day 12 measurements are not as important as a long, sustained, consistent, disease free growth. Sounds like you are doing ok!!! Keep up the hard work!!! Peace Wayne

In 2003 I planted generic seeds from Earl May. I planted seeds direct in the garden in mid May. One hill didn't germinate unitl after I ran over it with the tiller on the last week of June. I had minor hand surgery in August and quit dusting then. The cucumber beetles got real bad and the growth stopped around Labor day. Just 2 months from germination to end of growth and it went 176.6. I planted seeds from that one last year and just let them go wild. They set multiple fruits of 100 to 150 pounds, mostly football shaped. They can be impressive if the biggest you have ever grown are 80-100 pound Big Max, but they just don't have near the potential of better AG's.

I have generic seed too, my teenagers are driving me crazy, so I'm trying for a pumpkin thats bigger than 15 lbs, at least reading about pumpkins and learning for future years will be nice, at least I'm not killing my kids. I have one nice plant, with 4 pumpkins which are very small, so I will watch which one grows the best; I really like this place, when you are in your garden your closest to god, i'm not very religious but I do think its true
