just a quick question...how far down the main vine should a pupmkin be to polinate....i have and early bloomer set to bloom tommorrow but only like 3 feer out...isnt that two close ...please reply.

Around 15-20 feet,need more plant to feed pumpkin.

Wait for guys in your climate to chime in. What works in Iowa isn't neccessarily what works in Upstate NY. And, although Marty is right on it all depends on your plants size this year, now, and how much time you have left. As your growing season shortens so does your target pollination.10-15ft is probably more your climate than 15-20....but I would guess you want to pollinate in a time range more than a distance range this year. How far out will an available female be on July 10?
