At what point do you prune your vines to train them in the pattern you want them to grow? Thanks any information would be great!

Immediately as they appear. I remove every other secondary and permit no growth out, of the secondary vines. Any leaf that is slamming into another gets zapped.
This leaves nice wide rows between the vines early on as the vines develop. Easy access, for triming out unwanted growth and weeding and/or placing a mulch. Ample room for your boardwalks.
The canopy will still grow, to cover the entire patch, with little if any interference between leaf structures. Air circulation will be much increased and any spray applications will go on much easier.

docgipe, I've never gotten into pruning, but think this year I might. How many main vines do you end up with pruning every other secondary? Do you grow corner to corner or center plot or christmas tree? Thax
