how much broke off? i have broken about an 1/8 or 3/16 of the tip off and it kept growing.

Don't know Owen but I think you might get early branching off the root..sorta like a curly or screw root from germination I've never had any good plant come from a corkscrew..but Some of these guys with a lot more experience, is who I'd wait to hear from.

Have never had a problem like this so I can't help you here...
However, that is why I don't like all the "advanced" seed starting methods, paper towel methods, etc.

File, soak for 8h, place in pot, never remove seed again. So far every year 100% germination in 3 to 4 days.

Owen, apply root starter to it, I broke the tip of mine root half way off when trying to do the nakkid method,It was barely hanging there(crack going sideways), the root is now digging in and growing,Will it pop up?,Ill know it a couple days,but root is still growing and seed is swelling up.

The root hormone might help but I believe whatever root system does develope will be broad & shallow & may lack a deep running tap-root.
