Tomorrow I will put 3 seeds in 3 peat pots. I thought I would file 2 and leave the other unfiled. How much moisture should be in the pot? I have use of an industrial greenhouse at the university where I teach. Any comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

i usually just have enough moisture to were it is wet to the touch. you dont want to have it too wet, or else the seeds will rot. i learned that last year.

If you can squeeze drips out of the pots, then they're too wet.....I know, this method will destroy a few pots.....which is better than destroying the seeds.
