Interesting to consider when is someone an adult? The Democrats wont change the voting age to 21, because theyd lose a demographic that votes for them.

And both sides will still want adult criminal justice for 18 year olds... not to mention 16 year olds, 15 year olds, on down.

Seems to me if the legal system can judge that a 15 year old can be tried as an adult, then by extension of that logic, some 15 year olds ought to be given gun rights, because the legal system apparently thinks some of them are adults...

Last of all there is military service. Perhaps training should begin at 18, but there should be no deployment to a an actual war until age 21.

If a person is old enough to serve in the military he or she is old enough to be a responsible gun owner. I know there are a few bad apples but there has to be a better way. The 2nd amendment exists for good reason.

Its child abuse to legally have to fight and die in a war, if your country doesnt consider you an adult.

The Gridiot, I certainly agree with that.

The day a person turns 18 he or she is not instantly trained to use military style weapons, common sense should tell you that, common sense should also tell you ordinary citizens have no use what so ever to own a weapon of war. You can’t even get a hunting license in Pa. Without passing an official hunting safety course no matter how old you are! Semi automatic Guns used to hunt small game in Pa half to be plugged to a 3 shot capacity. Shot guns are your best defense of home invasion anyway.

I dont entirely disagree. Ideally I think Democrats should impose their laws upon themselves, likewise, Republicans should impose their laws on themselves, and just call it good. I dont know why we (either side) are legally beholden to value systems that dont match our own.

oger80 The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting or home invasion protection. The second amendment exists to protect us from tyrannical government gone out of control.

The same people who tell you to give up your guns wont give up their nukes... so yes, the world could be safer. If you are going to be disarmed, then overly polarized (nutzo) politicians should be disarmed also.

Democracy is tyranny, tyranny of the majority. There are plenty of places where the majority wanted Trump... In rural areas it was 80% for Trump. A lot of these people are good, happy, and down to earth... the farthest thing from nutzo. And yet the left dismisses them as deplorable.

If you dismiss the happy, sane, down to earth people, what are you "left" with?

Not much square footage there, DKrus, but it's cozy in the winter and economical given today's energy prices.

Keep posting roger, I do think RGG has hit the nail on the head though. By todays standards a well regulated militia ought to have an assortment of high tech weaponry. The founding fathers didnt want federal level tyranny/feudalism, which is exactly where we are headed. We're not fully there yet but that seems to be precisely the direction the left blindly wants to go.

There's a big difference between a government that says "we'll make your life better" vs one that says, "we'll get out of the way so that you can make your life better".

We do have a variety of problems the government could help us with, but the current government is literally brainless. My cynical soapbox!!!

From my perspective it looks like Democrats are in control...

The people of Cheney's district will soon be telling her where to go.

Controlled by Republicans? Are we talking about the same country?

Yep the same country, bipartisanship is exceedingly rare no matter what Biden tries to do to make American great again it is a 100% no from ass kissing Trump republicans

Democrats have gone so far left that there will never be bipartisanship ever again. See where they've gotten us so far?

They're the ones who created Trump to begin with and will continue to propagate politicians who intend to carry the torch. They have no interest in actually solving problems, only creating them and convincing the gullible that they are the only ones who can pull us through.

I agree the Democrats pushed me over to the right. I never hated Trump, so there was nothing to stop me from being pushed over to the right by the Democrats. If the Democrats could find another JFK, I'd probably slide back that way... lol. Even Bill Clinton was good until he drank too much swamp water.
