But it sort of rewards the people who were acting against free speech. Its a strange development for sure! He could have started his own platform way cheaper... Crazy.

I believe Elon Musk made the best possible decision. The fact that some terrible folks made a bit more money is simply a consequence. Musk now opens the door to freedom of thought on this premium communications service in an environment where freedom of thought had been given up to censorship. Long live fairness.

He'll be bored with it after a year or two once he realizes how much money he's losing.

Hopefully he discloses the shadow banning algorithms of the past and opens up the new algorithms for all to see moving forward.

Of course, being a private company, he can do whatever he wants (just like Twitter did before).
Freedom of speech, also called free speech, means the free and public expression of opinions without censorship, interference and restraint by the government.
Last I checked Twitter was never the government.

And now the Democrats seem afraid Elon will do to them exactly what they were doing to the Republicans.

I will likely never open a Twitter account, but truly enjoy the leftist media and snowflake employees going bonkers.

The First Amendment protects individuals from government censorship. Social media platforms are private companies, and can censor what people post on their websites as they see fit.

TRUMP’S NEW SOCIAL MEDIA COMPANY IS HIS BIGGEST SCAM YET. Probably why you won't see Putin/Trump on Twitter. Otherwise how does the Grifter explain where all that start up money went. Over one billion dollars! Suckers!

...You dont like Trump, Spudley?
Ugh, well you should see all the bleeding heart texts I get asking for donation$ for Democrats... They are gonna need more than fat coffers to win my heart. As far as I know they are the biggest scammers.

While you're right, Spuds, that social media platforms are privately owned, they also have exploited their 230(C) protections which are not afforded to their newspaper and broadcast media counterparts. This is the very core of the argument centered around free speech on such platforms.
230(C) was passed in 1996 to allow the internet to flourish, not censor free speech.

You are still drinking the poison cool-aid, Spudley. Your boy, Biden is the political grifter & has benefited greatly from Russian bribes as well as from several other countries. Let's go Brandon.

I agree Gridiot & with folks like George Soros donating billions to them, why do the Dems have to turn into beggars ?Anyway I believe a great awakening has begun. Barring any terrible incidents, Donald Trump is going to be only the second president to serve non consecutive terms, unless the Democrats figure out how to steal a second straight election from him. I just want to see justice done.

Democrats are the privledged of society... Which is why they blindly preach their own versions of "Let them eat cake!" Aloof and out of touch with the masses, still. That doesnt mean Trump will run, or win, though. It just means nothing has changed since 2016.
