Any other Kayak anglers? I think that I miss a lot of smallies trying to fish a ned rig from the yak. To many variables with the kayak moving in the creek to bounce a ned along the bottom slowly. Caught a few today but fished the ned rig only. I think it cost me some fish..

Great little finesse rig, catches more numbers than big. I am in Arkansas now and getting lots of rain, going bigger tubes (weedles) on the flooded creeks and Ozark rivers.
I fish them quite a bit when the bite is tough in Missouri and Arkansas.

I use it early in the year when the water is cold. I find most of the time they hit that rig when it stops and starts to stand up. Since I had the dog in the kayak, I kept moving along. That makes it harder to feel the hits. It's usually just bouncing along the bottom off of the rocks. But the "more numbers than big" statement is really accurate here as well. Fun to go to.

Hey I thought I kept my secret safe. Bouncing along the bottom off the rocks from the Kayak is how I roll.

Fished in Northern Arkansas today, and had a cold front and some rain come through. Was getting shut out and put on a Ned... still got shut out. LOL, tough day on the water.
Trees are starting to get flowers and some going green, hopefully the bite picks up!

I used to fish in a Kayak for a few years before getting a boat. I caught alot of fish, but it does take some getting used to. I did alot of bass fishing , throwing underdocks, ladders, flooded timber etc etc, I had good luck using a jig n pig and texas rig. I found it harder to swim jigs or use crankbaits.
