Censorship isn't a new issue. There's a good reason for censorship to be addressed in the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights.

I agree censorship isn't new, but back then it was a mole hill, now it's a mountain. I was in China about 11 years ago watching the BBC news, I can remember seeing the screen go black when a contrary viewpoint was made. A while back Zuckerberg said that the truth will rise to the top and outweigh the misinformation. If that is still true why are certain topics off limits on social media and mainstream media?

Censoring indecent language is in a different league than censoring health information. We would like to think the "big health" industry cares about us, but do they? Or do they care about profits? Does a car salesman tell you the truth because he cares about you... or does he tell you what will sell the car to you? Imagine if a used car salesman had "big info" on his side?
...Youd get taken advantage of, maybe?
"We are the only car lot in town." "Its safe because it's been test driven around the block and the driver survived." (Omits that the car has no brakes.) Etc. etc.

...In the case of vaccines you're buying a car that you can never get out of. Theres no reversing being in that car. Once you sit in that driver's seat, good or bad, you're in that car, forever. So buyer beware.
Make a good choice, even though the car salesman pushed a secret mute button on your wife (all the other voices who truly care about you).

So you ask your wife, what do you think hon? And she isnt allowed to say "I get the feeling this guys a con man." Because the salesman pressed the secret mute button on her, all you hear is: "I dont know... whatever you want hon."
The Zappa interview is about PC censoring (I was offended!) not information censoring (I can no longer discern for myself the critical truths necessary to make good choices.)

My thoughts :).

Vaccines Work: 97% of COVID deaths, 95% of COVID hospitalizations and 94% of COVID cases are among UNVACCINATED Pennsylvanians. This comes from the Pa. department of health report on COVID 19, which is a Republican controlled state with a bunch of unvaccinated non mask wearing Facebook following Trump supporters, not from the “big health” industry!

I thought Trump "lost" in Pennsylvania. Hardly seems Republican controlled. You want it both ways... to be in power yet blame the opposition. I will agree with you that vaccination has become a partisan issue, though. If you really want to convince me of anything put a link to the source!

I try to check out the source, then the methodology, and then I try to find opposing viewpoints. I consider other people's motives... I try to understand their agenda and their biases.
It seems to me, the agenda isnt to stop the pandemic, it's only to sell vaccines. But theres a lot of careful thinking that goes into a statement like that. I cant make such a statement lightly. Its just my opinion so please ignore it if you want to... To me, big pharma profits is the one consistent pattern underlying all the chaos we have all endured. It the one factor that unifies everything. The well being of children or at-risk adults is NOT what unifies everything.

Sorry for getting off topic. This doesnt have much to do with censorship except that big pharma has the deepest advertising pockets of ANY industry. More $ than cars, beer/beverage, etc. If you work for a living... you work for $... not for the truth.
I'm a fool. But not a complete fool. I do know what people will do for a buck.

One thing that really stands out to me is the point Zappa made about the cost of printing lyrics. That sort of regulatory compliance costs money. Similarly, when social media platforms and traditional media outlets collude with political campaigns to bury damaging stories (like Hunter’s laptop or lab leak), they are providing a service that has a monetary value. Shouldn’t this sort of activity be subject to campaign finance law?

Yeah well thankfully we can still walk past the homeless guy who may freeze to death and not care... Get what I'm saying? If you want to legislate that we have to care about our fellow humans that opens an interesting and endless can of worms. If you really care about the kids and the at-risk then why not really investigate other treatments and see if they work rather than shelving them so that we have a "vaccines-only" "Medical-Treatment Aparthied"... which benefits Pfizer a lot but really doesnt benefit our kids at all. You cant get ANY OTHER TREATMENT published or reviewed or anything because big pharma is basically on par with the communists. (Total thought control.)

Big pharma will fund studies and use very dishonest methodologies to get the results they want, and the media will dismiss anything positive that might also help. Hand washing, vitamin D, vitamin C, etc... these things could help but they dont make big pharma any money. Not to mention the other highly effective drugs! Anyhow half this country is being duped by big pharma... the other half is duped by Trump I guess. Each should worry about his or her own naivity, since no one else is really in charge of what we believe. "The buck stops..." ...in your own head?

If humor is the best medicine then skip the booster but keep up the humor. My girlfriend couldnt use her arm after, but she could still use her mouth to complain. Next time she needs a double dose too... As long as one goes into her lips I'm good. The other can paralyze her wherever she wants!
So rude of me but oh well. (It's not like I've not been the jabbed butt end of crass jokes myself.)

I read that confusion is a tactic used by the most psychopathic abusers. For example, a man might yell at his woman that he likes his steak rare one evening and later he will knowingly mess with her head and say he likes his steak well done and that he told her that before and that she has a bad memory. Throws the victim off balance. Basically just to create complete dysfunction, mystery, and lack of resistance.
It's not just moving the goalposts, its a sort of dehumanization and abusive control technique used by evil sociopaths.

We need to wake up to the fact that we are "in an abusive relationship".

It's hard to get out of a relationship with sociopaths, because they manipulate the very best part of you... the part that cares... and they basically want to destroy you because you're assuming the relationship is reciprocal and, well, it isnt... They just laugh all the way to the bank and leave you in tears.

Fauci is an extremely skilled sociopath. There is no question in my mind whatsoever. When questioned by Rand Paul... Fauci's defensiveness was that of an adept sociopath. Its both subtly and overtly not the response you would expect to hear from a caring doctor. He even ingratiated himself to Trump and even "wiseguy" Trump fell for it.
Will 300 million Americans admit they were duped?
This whole covid thing smacks of an abusive romantic relationship, more than anything else.
