I haven't received it, but I know a lot of people who have. Several reported feeling particularly rough after the second dose (low grade fever plus other cold-like symptoms). There are reports of people who had COVID getting more symptoms after the first dose. This indicates that your body is mounting an immune response against the vaccine. Do you know whether you had a previous COVID infection?

First shot yesterday, just a sore arm so far.
Wife got her second yesterday, she went home from work early today with the fever / chills. Pretty consistent with the folks I work with who have had their second, although it doesn't seem to hit the older folks as hard. All Moderna shots here.

Count yourselves as lucky or fortunate that you live in the USA. Here in Canada, in my Province of British Columbia, as a 57 year old I won’t be eligible to get my first dose till August.

They just started seniors here so sometime in September, though it sounds like the astra one will be available to 64 to 50 in limited numbers. We only have vaccine for 90000 a day in Canada thanks to our federal government’s incompetence. That’s better than a few weeks ago when we had none while watching the USA do almost 2 mil a day. In the meantime they are also only giving seniors one shot because the feds need to get as many vaccinations as possible even if it ruins the efficacy so they don’t look any worse than they already do. Yes I’m a little bitter.

Maybe this will help; Maybe not. I know people, that are caregivers, or take care of someone friend or family and are dependent of you, they will give you the vaccine no matter how old you are, just bring them to their vaccine appointment. Alot of the vaccine areas have left over vaccines at the end of the day that has to be used that day, they will give it to any age group rather throwing it away. Hope this helps

Thank god, governors are not lifting the mask mandate before most people are vaccinated...wouldn't that be stupid...

My rant today: good looking people are tired of wearing masks. I understand those that suffer from crooked or discolored teeth, recessed jaw lines, bulbous noses, or a depleted chin are thriving under cover the last year. It's like a hat for bald people. My angled zygomatic arches and are only weathering away due to father time, so lets all get vaccinated. But, double chins got to get laid too.

Over 60, but likely not available until July. I live in the wrong area in Ontario. The LTC seniors in our region are just getting their 1st shots now & were the last of their group in the province to receive them. So, I expect our area to be last on the list for my age group too. Who knows. Trudeau really messed this all up. Hopefully he'll be voted out soon.

what has happened up here is a result of decades of moving stuff to other countries via buy outs etc. Now we do not have the capacity and as you seen down in the states what happened with protective gear. As much as I am not a fan of our PM, I cannot blame him for the last 60+ years of allowing this to happen. Besides after the last guy, Trudeau looks like the most competent leader in the world.

Spudder, so you’re supposed to just accept 50 years of policy without change during the worst “pandemic” the world has seen? You all had a lot of advice for us during quarantine and about Americans not wearing masks spreading the virus like wildfire. You hunkered down, kept it under control, and now accept no vaccinations for old people till summer? That’s like the good son getting screwed by the doofus brother. Sounds like Eddy Z was right, you need a leader who puts Canada first.

lotta screwing going on there - is that what's on yer mind frequently? if the US WANTED COVID-19 to be gone, it'd be gone by now; instead, everybody parties, visits relatives, goes out to EAT (yea, that's essential, 'cause no one eats at the dinner table anymore - let's go OUT!) works out at the gym, etc., etc... this has been nothing more than a rolling stop to me; every time the 'numbers' get low enough, restrictions get lifted and then the virus flares up again. And the gov't throws down another $600-$1400 to me soon. Guess I can't complain! Oh, yeah, i forgot - i haven't had my shot yet, lol---eg

We don’t have any Vaccine manufacturing capabilities in Canada and rely on imports from other countries. Vaccine manufacturers were filling orders from larger customers first, just like any good business does and every country was only looking after their own best interests. Simple supply and demand, no use blaming the guy at the top, but go ahead if it makes you feel better.
Jane and Phil, how about Chrystia Freeland for our next Prime Minister? Wouldn’t she be fantastic?

Canada is now investing in vaccine manufacturing facilities that can produce on a larger scale. That will be good for the future plus the researchers but only if government and public have learned their lessons. History probably means 30 yrs. or less it will be forgotten. And since I cannot force anybody to give me the vaccine it makes no sense to get on here or anywhere else just to whine and cry about it. Will not change the vaccine status. And the biggest whiners if you put people and country first ahead of unchecked business people who idolize money and begrudge the average joe any would be the business people whose attitudes has led to this.

My wife would like her Glenn, but she is too liberal for me. We need a government that will put Canada & Canadians 1st & quit sucking up to China &/or the WOKE community. Someone that isn't afraid to say that Canada is not a racist country & realize our greatest partner is the US. Trudeau screwed up with the vaccines by trusting China instead of what Trump was doing. When China was suppose to come across with the info to help, they told Trudeau no. He kept that info from the Canadian people for 2 months before he started ordering large orders of vaccines from the other vaccine manufacturers. The problem was that he was late. Now we are well behind many other countries that ordered vaccines earlier. I think we are now number 51 in the world for vaccines administered. Pretty sad for a G7 Country, with a Top 10 economy. He also didn't negotiate manufacturing rights here, so that is also delaying us getting the vaccine. So, now the Gov wants us to wait 4 months between the shots. That is something that no Dr. in the World is recommending, but because Trudeau's screw-up, we are getting the short end of the needle. Time for Trudeau to go.

One kid got 2x moderna, another kid got 2x phizer...wife has 2 x phizer, I have J+J, both parents (90yrs old) have J+J. A day to a day and a half of inconvenience is a small price to pay for the feeling you've done all you can and you're likely protected against death from it.. My next shot will be of Jack Daniels at an outside bar with innoculated friends.

AZ hasn't even applied for emergency authorization in the US, and they're just sitting on 50 million+ doses. We need to get them out to other countries who already authorized them. We're quickly coming up to the point where our supply is going to outstrip demand anyway by the looks of things.
I wouldn't worry about side effects. I definitely wouldn't worry about them if the alternative would be no vaccine. Decent article here: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/16/more-eu-countries-halt-astrazeneca-shot-as-ema-reviews-side-effects-.html

Read the stories and will not be afraid to take it if that is what is offered to me There can be side effects to routine operations( you risk death when they put you under) plus even aspirin. On top of that it seems to be 1 batch with women under 55 on certain types of oral contraceptives being most at risk(small). Plus it has been known for decades that certain types of "the pill" can cause problems.

Not worried about the RNA I am more worried about the propolyn glycol nanoparticles. I presume they have tested this technology on non-homosapiens. I havent dug through the internet yet to look for animal trials but suffice it to say that I dont want any extra problems with arthritis or allergies 10 years from now. I think it's a 50-50 gamble... no offence intended to those who believe the odds are more (or less) in their favor.

I did so many untested, unapproved drugs back in the 70's that I am not going to worry about getting the covid vaccine. Scheduled for first dose of Maderna shot on the 26th. I only have another 25 or so years to live naturally, so long term effects really don't concern me much either.

Andy W, we have reached that point here in Missouri where supply has overtaken demand. We have events in rural areas where only 1\3 of vaccines are being given, so many get thrown out since not frozen and have a short shelf life when thawed. Saint Louis and Kansas City are a different story, so everyone is making a drive to the country side.
Stories I have been told:
Anybody, and I mean anybody can drive to rural Missouri, wait late in the day and get a vaccine. All one has to do is claim they are in IT or alter job description accordingly when signing up, no ID required, and they will give it to you.
Example, my friend owns a handyman company, he also controls his Facebook page advertising for that company. He got vaccinated because he is in "IT" or Information Technology.
