Some Presidents in the past Pardon hundreds more than President Trump. President Trump has Pardoned 61 people. A far cry less than many presidents before him. So why the complaining? Democratic president Barack Obama pardoned, commuted, or rescinded the conviction of 1,927 people https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_pardoned_or_granted_clemency_by_the_president_of_the_United_States

I don't think the issue is the raw numbers, it's the particulars of the crimes.

Pardons are something written in stone in the constitution. If you want to change pardons, we need to change the constitution. I do not want to see the pardon provision changed. Career executive department staff serve several administrations, and can carry over grudges for years. The pardon can prevent these grudges from turning into a strictly political prosecution. I was upset that Ford pardoned Nixon, but the country didn't need the trauma of a president on trial.

Yes but it's who they pardon and for what reason. Obama pardons were mostly for unfair minimum mandatory convictions. Big difference.

I basically agree with Obama's pardons. 10 years for cocaine but basically no punishments for the wall street/bank meltdown. Doesnt seem fair. Caffeine activates the same receptors in the brain. Sure cocaine is 10x stronger but then if the world was fair then basically dealing coffee ought to be a mandatory min. 364 days in jail?

Chris Christie prosecuted the case against Charles Kuschner and described it as the most disgusting case he has ever prosecuted. Kuschner Sr. hired a prostitute to seduce his brother in law, films it and sends it to his sister so she won’t testify against him.....stand up guy.
Hey, Trump can pardon anyone he wants, he has the power. If I were an American I would be more concerned why he went to his own golf resort without signing the relief bill and denying the military pay increase. If I’m wrong I apologize in advance.

Back in 1787, when the Constitutional Convention was drafting the part of the Constitution that would soon become the presidential pardon power, Mason unequivocally opposed the provision. The president, he said, “ought not to have the power of pardoning, because he may frequently pardon crimes which were advised by himself. It may happen, at some future day, that he will establish a monarchy, and destroy the republic. If he has the power of granting pardons before indictment, or conviction, may he not stop inquiry and prevent detection?” Wise man. He saw Trump coming!
