I'm fairly new to gardening. What is the best OM to add to the garden? I have to send in my soil sample. Is cow maneur or horse maneur better? I'm adding leaves this fall also.

If it's aged Horse manure & you need the extra potassium it supplis, then Horse is better. But it has to be aged &/or properly composted to kill the weed seeds that pass through a horses stomach.
Cow manure may be used fresh (fall only) because the cows 4 stomachs destroy most of the weed seeds.
Don't pass on any manures though. All can be aged or composted into usefulness if space permits.

O.M. over 10 would be great. Horse manure is best since it is high in potash. You can put on good composted horse or cow manure next April. Green manure should be put on in the fall.
