Our weather in central PA is calling for about 2-3 days of rain some heavy at times,my question is my pumpkin has already almost stopped growing since the rain started. I would think this is normal because of the lack of sun and warmth and the roots are probably being temporarily being flooded.I would think the growth will pick up again when it warms up and dries up. Will this cause any adverse reactions? I plan to not fertilize untill I see how much it grows more. I figured fertilizer might give it to much go juice with all the rain, and make it grow to fast. Am I oon the right track? thanks AGAIN, Amy

It depends on what kind of soil, we have a sandy soil that allows for good drainage. Sunday we had 1 1/2 rain by tuesday the soil was dry 4 inches deep. I have noticed that when we received alot of rain the next two sunny days were the best for growth. Good luck. On the other hand I'm hoping for a good soaking.
