I have some questions regarding Calcium Nitrate. I bought an 80lb sack of 15.5-0-0 in granular form.

1.) Can I assume it is water soluble? Nothing indicates it on the bag.

2.) Is the granular form only for soil treatments?
3.) Or can I use it as a drench, foliar, and towel soak too?

I've looked all over for chelated calcium and for liquid form too but to no avail. Will my 80lb sack go to waste or can I use it?

4.) And in what amounts for the drench, foliar, and towel soaks?

A lot of questions, I know.
Thanks in advance,
Kim

Calcium Nitrate may be used as a foliar spray for
the addition of supplemental nitrogen and calcium. Mix at a rate of 1 oz. in 2 gallons of water.

Calcium nitrate at 1.25 oz/ per gallon (weight not fluid) of water if you calculate 5 lbs per every 100 gallons...those are directions on the bag of granular I bought last year....Southern AG, made right down the road from me.
You may not want to use it so close to pollination time for fear of fruit aborts.

Thanks everyone...
I looked up the MSDS data and it says it is water soluble - great!
And thanks for clarifying the Oz. as weight, not fluid - I was stumbling on that too. Do you think the 1.25 oz is a good mix for foliar and drench?
I've not used any thus far and will wait until fruit has set.
Does anyone have any input as to the mix (granular) for towel soaks?
I appreciate the willing advice here -
Best to all -
Kim
