The Atlantic Giant Pumpkin is a very aggressive grower. I have had over 13 inches of growth in a 24 hour period last year. I know many growers say they have had much more. Its hard to say if the seaweed/lakeweed is the cause of the excelerated growth. It might be you have a genetically superior plant when it comes to green growth. The plants enviroment also has much to do with good growth. If your providing an excellent micro-climate around your plant you should see excellent results.
Some inland lakes in Eastern Wisconsin are over grown with a invasive aquatic plant called Eurasian Milfoil. The plant grows so dense that you can't even drive boat through it. Many local lakes have these plants cut several times a season by a large cutting machine. They dump this lakeweed in a pile near shore and its free for the taking.
Last October I put 3 pick-up truck loads of Eurasion Milfoil with a little Coon tail mixed in on patch #1. I let it sit all winter and tilled it in this spring, I guess we will see if it was worth all the work this fall. Dean o

Craig: If it works I want to know which gravel pit you got it from! By the way, every fall I put in some seaweed out of the St. Clair River. Don't know if it helps like the Brown rockweed stuff out of the ocean, but I figure it can't hurt! Frank
