New thread, hopefully all positive imput.
I used Mycorrhizal Fungi as a pre-plant with my pumpkins & stupid me didn't put it with my tomatoes & peppers at transplant. If I was to sprinkle it around each plant & work it in and then water it down can I get some benefit from it as well. This is my first year using this & I'm not afraid to say I'm Mycorrhizal Fungi stupid.

Thanks Paul. I did the same fool thing! I zmyc'ed the Pumpkins & not the Tomatoes or Peanuts. I believe a thoroiugh drenching will still move it down into the rootzone.

i used some when transplanting into the patch, is this
all i need to do, or should i sprinkle some along the
vine edge to make sure all tap roots get some too?
i bought plenty, so will it hurt it, or just totally
unnecessary because all you need is to do it once?

I used Mycorrhizal fungi on my plants also. Now I'm wondering what would be the best way to battle powdery mildew when it rears it's ugly head again. Can we still use fungicide on the plants without killing the mychorrhiza?

Good question if you will kill the fungi. I called Joel and specifically asked him the question. He said he had spoked to a soil specialist and the answer was yes but it all depends on how much you put down. I got the idea that that you wont kill it all if youre careful. I also got the notion that Joel was not entirely sure of the answer. Just my input. Fungicides wont kill Root Shield I was specifcally told by the company, not sure if I believe them. Long story short I dont use fungicides until late July, powdery mildew is always an absolute trying to prevent it has never really helped me and Im always able to control it.

I think you're OK as long as you don't heavily soil drench with the fungicide. I'm applying systemic Eagle and Ridomil (yes, it can be used that way in addition to foliar) in light doses to the root zone but sparingly, just enough to get the product there and right before I think it's going to rain.
I use myke and Rootshield both. I'm not sure about the myke but I'm pretty sure the Rootshield isn't affected...BTW Rootshield is great, I use it every year and am very happy with it...no chance for root rot or disease affecting them.
