So for next year I'm looking to run at least four impact sprinklers...maybe six. Right now, the water pressure I have coming from the sill cock spigot is just barely enough to run one...and sometimes it gets stuck with momentary loss of pressure.

So obviously I need a booster pump to run multiple, but I also wanted to run a timer system like the B-Hyve system. Thing is though....I assume the pump will continue to run even when the system isn't running, which would burn up the pump. There's no point in having a timer system if I have to be here anyway to turn the pump on and off.

So...is there a pump I can get that would shut off when the flow of water has stopped? Or even better, is there a timer system that also can shut off power to a pump when not in use?

I love my pump.
I dream of having a few of them when I upgrade to my new patch -
they'd still be in boxes for years, though, until my present one retires!

If not THIS pump due to cost, get one at least with the same specs;
Do not under-power your patch with a lesser pump!

When the liquid you run is thicker than plain water, it seems to influence the pressure/flow
available at each of (MY) Whizzer sprinklers.

It is not a 'good-sounding' pump if it's not full of water during operation, but if and once
it IS in an airless system, like brakes on a car, she runs as any other.

65 PSI when closed off and although you're not supposed to do that,
I do it as a needed regimen, followed by orchestration of the limiter
shutoff valves I show in my Diary.
55-60 PSI, though, when actually running to any sprinkler.
They hold back the BEAST!

As with any pump, be CERTAIN that the hoses and fittings can handle
70+ PSI or at least be shielded away, just like mine aren't, lol.

*Once you have a 55-gallon barrel to incorporate, you can add ANYthing you want.

I don't care if you don't use it butt I cannot say anything bad about it - That is a rarity!
I had 7 Whizzers running the other day and was perplexed by that #...then, my barrel ran out
and I was like 'Well, that'll teach ya!'.

I CAN run 3 Whizzers effectively, 2 amazingly and
ONE? ...is fearing for its life at a 40 feet in diameter circle.
***I have this running through about 1000 feet of hose to my FPs, including through
those damned 1/4-inch hose fittings and shutoffs. It works, though.***

I don't think it'll be a worry about a timer and your presence.

I have the Yankee Kill Switch depicted in-Diary.

Since I'm here, any timer would simply have to have higher-than-needed ratings and be
firmly 'plugged in' to avoid any arcing at the outlet - like 'plugged in here'
and then the timer, then the pump.

I must mention that a sump pump switch was to be used in my system, but it has not yet
gelled. Within a barrel, there's your timer! I can explain that idea in the winter.

you will need timer that also has capability for pump relay
kind of complicated but I installed both this year

Ah yes pump relay! That's what I was looking for.

Eric, that one probably would suit my needs. There are numerous pumps I've seen that would work and I am trying to stay in the 120 volt range. If I get a timer with a pump controller and a pump relay I should be able to get it up the way I want. All my hoses are 100 psi.
