Hi, Just interesting to hear if anyone here is using Calcium Nitrate as a foliar spray.
I am trying to figure out what the recommended rate to mix it at.
I am using the Granular for of Calcium Nitrate that you would usually use on the soil, but as i already have it, i am going to make a batch of it soluble ready fro foliar spraying.
I have done a bit of research but came back with vary degrees of mixing ratios varying quiet a bit from each one.
1st one is a ratio of 2 Tablespoons per gallon of water.
2nd one is a ratio of 1.5 teaspoons per gallon of water.
3rd one is a ration of .5 teaspoon per gallon of water. ( this one was on the kelp4less site)

So kind of interested to know from anyone how has been using the Calcium Nitrate as a foliar spray, what ratio they mixed it up as.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

hello i will tell you my experience
I do not fertilize by quantity fertilizer adjusting the solution with the necessary quantity of calcium nitrate measuring the total electrical conductivity water + fertilizer at values from 0.8 to 1.8ce according to phenological stage, that is to say, to small plant less quantity and from the pollination I will gradually increasing the amount to 1.8ce
talk about quantities without knowing the starting conductivity of water
It is not only more suitable that some poor quality water together with an excess of fertilizer could create phytotoxicity even burn the plant.
I also adjust the solution with some acid to a value of 5.9 to 6 ph.

Andalusi55 is right - it's the final EC that's important, not the quantity per gal you use. Aim for an EC less than 2.0.
