The last time I planted anything was 2011 and 1500lbs was still a big deal. What have been some of the advances in fertilizing and watering since then?
Is there an ideal mycorrhizae blend that I need to know about?
Is there a target OM content for our soils?
Should we all just move to Switzerland?
Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Statistics show Wisconsin or Minnesota are ideal conditions for growing

Pennsylvania has produced more world records than the upper midwest; but I am curious- are many growers in Wisconsin and Minnesota using Harpin proteins? This is something I don't remember hearing about before.

I have tried the harpin protiens the past 2 year and have mixed results. The plants age faster then normal at least in my case. The leafs really show signs of ageing at least a month and a half out from weigh off.

Thanks, Slim.
Could the early aging of plants be a result of over-application of the harpin proteins?
I was looking at the Axiom product that the Wallaces are distributing and their site advised against over-application. Is there a fine line to walk regarding harpin protein application?

I thought I had over applied the first year,so I tried again this year using much less product and not as often.I ended up with the same results. The plant looked super healthy as usual but again in late August the leafs started drying out and went down hill quick.I did study a little about the Harpins and it does say the plants will have a shorter life

Sounds like timing might be important with the harpin proteins- maybe it's best to start applying later in the season?
It would be nice to get more input on this subject- I'm sure everybody has done their applications a little bit differently and had different results.
Thanks again, Slim.

Just to be clear- I'm looking for advice from growers who do not have any financial stake in selling a product.

No financial stake here.. Just good stuff made simple.. It works ask gene.. And bubba.. Or anyone who used it in Wisconsin this last year I think the weights prove a few things. Use silicates and humic and fulvic acids. Keep the plants moist not wet make sure you water consistent if you ask I will tell you. No money required

Why bury? watering is easier . I wouldnt give a product credit for what the weather did.The table will flip next year.

I use dry products to make my tea and send it through my watering system its great and quick. But burying and getting the product right next to the root you get a lot of bang for the buck.
