Just a quick question... From my well we have really high iron content. To the point that my leaves have an iridescent shimmer after awhile. Should I try and filter some of this out, or just let it ride? Thanks!

i have high iron in my water also, I use a whole house filter. the ones you can change the filters inside. you can buy adapters for them that a hose can attach to, normally its a 3/4 pipe thread by 3/4 hose thread. but you will have to check filter. mine is hooked up to hose and then from there I run out to my tanks.

Of all the minerals we talk about I don't remember seeing iron. It will be interesting to see what comes out of this. Some plants like iron. What effect does it have on pumpkins? You know it's there because it turns thing rust colored.

I have seen the Iron you guys have down there, I do not envy you. The plants get bronze from it. The Iron has to be in an ionic form that the plants can use to be beneficial.

Everything turns brown.... My plants look antiqued after a week or too. Thinking I may pick up a filter set just to knock the iron level down a bit. Can't be too bad though, farmers all around my patch grow 14' tall corn.

I have the same issue up here in Minnesota. I don't overhead water in the patch though so I don't notice it. But, I have never filtered my water, I just use it straight from the well. However, anything my lawn sprinkling system hits, turns brown within two weeks.
